I'm trying to get 100 new apprenticeships in North Norfolk over the next two years.
I challenged the team headed by the fantastic Julia Nix to deliver 100 new apprenticeships across the constituency. Apprenticeships offer local people a different way into life-long careers, helping them train and develop whilst getting real workplace experience.
On 20th October 2022, we launched the scheme at Paston College in North Walsham. We had over 50 local businesses in attendance, ranging from renewable energy providers to fitness gyms, there really was a great mix. It was a fantastic chance to show business people the value investing in young people can bring to their enterprises.
We also had a speech from two young apprentices who shed some light on their experiences. In the words of Ethan, “If businesses invest in young people, they will invest back”. It was clear that in his opinion, apprenticeships really are a win-win.
