Following the Lionesses winning the Euro 22 and being finalists in the recent World Cup, the Football Foundation announced a legacy would be created for each of the player's grassroots clubs with a 3G pitch delivered in their name.
So I am leading calls for Lauren Hemp's 3G pitch to be named after her and built in North Walsham.
I recently called a meeting between The Norfolk County FA, North Norfolk District Council and North Walsham Town Football Club after constituents contacted me over the move to name the new pitch at the Nest in Norwich after the England Lioness and North Walsham hero.
This pitch must be delivered for North Walsham, it needs to be here for the residents, children and footballers of the town. The Nest in Norwich is backed by Norwich City Football Club. They already have a 3G pitch, so it makes total sense that a new pitch needs to be named after Lauren and located in her hometown of North Walsham first - not Norwich.
Complete my petition below and show your support for this community mission. I will then share the results of this with the Football Foundation as strong evidence that the this pitch belongs here in North Norfolk.
