This morning I chaired the inaugural meeting of the Young Carers APPG.
I have always campaigned to support carers and in my spare time away from Parliament volunteered in a local care home.
Before I became a Member of Parliament, I was a Trustee and volunteer of the amazing Holt Youth Project. Their work to support huge numbers of young carers in North Norfolk is admired enormously and I continue to support them in my charitable fundraising.
This new Parliamentary group is cross party and aims to champion the rights of young carers. They need to know that their futures are not disadvantaged and that the funding to support them and amazing groups such as the Holt Youth Project is considerably improved and safeguarded.
To all the young carers out there, you are amazing and I will continue to campaign on your behalf in Westminster.
