Being able to live in North Norfolk and protect our communities has been a cause I have fought for tirelessly.
Yesterday I was talking in Parliament about the opportunities of using the planning system to control the very high numbers of Airbnbs and holiday letβs in some of our coastal areas.
The tourism local economy is very important. But this is about a balance and it is no good if the local hotel, restaurant or care home canβt find any staff because people simply cannot live in the vicinity. We need local people to still have a chance of living in our area.
We need lots of tools to help the problem. Those I have spoken to have all welcomed these sensible and measured proposals.
